Kota Tinggi Rainforest Resort

Oh I'm so exhausted but I'm still gonna write about my very short trip to Kota Tinggi, Johor during Labour Day! My aunt wanted me to tag along with her to the getaway that her company organized. I would say the organizer is really bad at planning for trips, honestly. Anyways let's kick start with this crazy thing that everyone hates; waiting. That 2D1N trip was probably all about waiting. We had to meetup at a place, (1030hours) before heading to the checkpoint. But the coach only arrived at (1200hours). Our faces got so sloppy and very draggy because it made our good vibes went flying away. Nevertheless, that's not the end of waiting. As soon as we reached the Malaysia Custom, oh god, the crowd was unbelievable. From the escalator up, to the counters, it was all filled with people. And just to get through, we had to wait while standing with our big bags for nearly 4 hours! We were all drenched, with our own sweat, of course.
(I do  not know how to rotate the pic and sorry for bad quality hehe)

So yes, that was what we all had to overcome. Be it during the queue we were thirsty or hungry or halfway about to die, we have to make it through. But once we did, oh our hearts were all lightened. Thank god. So we then proceeded to Kota Tinggi Rainforest Resort to have our lunch there. It was about 4 when we cleared the immigration and got there by 6 after what nots. Just FYI, we had all our meals at the resort itself. Hmm, the name of the resort sounded real familiar before I got there but then I remembered, I had my Secondary Two level camp there, which was about... 4 years ago? Yes. So the memories sure hit me as soon as I got there. Nothing much changes, or should I remove the much and stick to nothing? This place is recommended for those who loves to adventure, of course. And used to the very "jungle" feels, because the insects like mosquitoes there are all real big and may suck your blood, any time, any where!

The resort!
If you have elderly along with you or the disabled, be sure to ask for rooms that are just the same level as reception else you'll have to go up hills that can be really tiring. I got room 507 which was the last "level", and oh god...
The bed.

But anyways, the environment there was pretty much what I needed for a short break from SG. As it's a rainforest, be sure to bring along your mozzie wet wipes or insect repellent because your blood might just be too sweet for them mozzies. :P

The makan part was meh.......... No really.

We had a BBQ dinner which I expected to be like we bbq our food but then it was the chefs who bbq-ed before hand and then place those food in the buffet spread which didn't give me the feels for a BBQ night. Furthermore the food that was BBQ-ed was only chicken and satay! Or I would say only chicken because the satay was obviously fried! (It was nice la actually, that was the only thing I ate because the rest of the food was blend) The corn, potatoes and all were boiled LOL. And we had to pay RM40 for this ridiculous buffet spread? The staffs gave as a very weird look when we wanted to have more serving. But then, they closed the buffet and said there were not enough food left. What even? Bad bad service I tell you.

                                         Scenery out of their "Restaurant"
The restaurant.

After dinner, we had our firefly tour! Wasn't that excited because I've went on the same exact tour. Don't expect too much on these tour, 45minutes to and hour just to see fireflies was quite a draggy time. It was too long I would say. But it's peaceful! :)

Swallow's Nest. This one under the bridge wasn't the better quality, the tour guide said, the better ones are usually at the tall buildings, well taken care of.

And back to the resort.

We were thirsty, we headed over to the restaurant to buy drinks and a family who had their real bbq there was kind enough to give us some otah-otah (which was better off than the bbq buffet spread we had because it wasnt even cooked. This was superb!) So this is considered our unhealthy supper HAH.

2ND AND LAST DAY.

The breakfast was much more nicer and worthy. I enjoyed it haha.

After breakfast, we explored the resort area. (The bus driver made us wait for 2 hours because he over slept!!!)

Kota Tinggi Fruit Farm.

Sorry for the not-so-interesting post. But anyways still I gave the best impression I could for this whole trip muahahah. A much needed getaway with just a few hiccups here and there. Till next time!

Bandung 2015

                                                               Kawah Putih, Bandung

Well hello we meet again! So since I have some free time right now, why not I publish a post on my Bandung trip since I've promised y'all? If you were to ask me, describe your trip to Bandung in the simplest words, I'd say, splendid! Really... It has such breathtaking natural places to visit, (eventhough I visited only two of the rather well known ones - Tangkuban Perahu & Kawah Putih (as seen in picture). I honestly enjoyed my 5D4N there and I wished I had longer vacation days so I could stay there!

It was a family trip so somehow there isn't any hole in my wallet, hehe since mum was there with me. Our accommodation was at a 5 star hotel, Indonesia standard, Grand Royal Panghegar. It's a very beautiful hotel with such heart warming room! Although it took them almost an hour to get the rooms ready, I was still pleased at how stunning the room was. Well pardon for that I don't have any pictures of the room hehe. We had the family suite or something like that, at the condotel. The staffs/frontdesk there were all fine. The Kuna Spa there, was really good, for actually a first timer like me, I was really pleased. Just that, the masseuse recommended me and my mom facial massage for 300000 rupiah, so we kinda agreed with heavy hearts cause it was expensive just for a facial massage. It turned out to be a 10 minutes massage, and it was meh, okay. The next day, my cousin went to have the massage but was only charged 275000 rupiah and it lasted for 45 minutes with like a whole package of what facial massage should be like. So yes, simply said, I was cheated. LOL.

Moving on to the food at Bandung, oh goodness it always fills my tummy!! The spicy food there is marvellous! Hehe I LOVE spicy food, mind you. Okay, one restaurant that I took quite a lot of pictures of is at, Resto Ciwidy, just a mile away from Kawah Putih if I'm not wrong. The place was up the hills near the waterfall so it was a very nice place to dine at.

                                                                    Fried Fish
                                                                      Fried Calamari
Fried Flying Fish
Ooh just a chic going for a pink dip!

Okay that wasn't much of pictures, b-but it's okay! Haha. Okay, for Kawah Putih the entry was cheap but I couldn't recall how much it was. Both Kawah Putih and Tangkuban Perahu, you might need a mask because the smell of sulfur there is really strong, especially at Kawah. Tangkuban Perahu was rather expensive, 200000rupiah for tourist and only 20000 for locals. Which was like 20SGD and 2SGD. Yeah.... Be careful when you are such places, the sellers who usually sells souvenirs can be sly, also irritating, they'll follow behind your back until you  buy something from them. But better not, find souvenirs somewhere else! It's a must to try the horse riding there (Tangkuban Perahu) , but then again, don't get cheated, only ask for one trip, if they wouldn't let you down from the horse and insist on another round, pester them. Be firm!

Tangkuban Perahu.

I'll let the other pictures do the story :)

                                                  The view from Sky Lounge
                                                           Sky Lounge

                                                   The breakfast I had. Yums
                                                       Ooh pink horsey!!

Me on Kelvin, the horse, overlooking Tangkuban
                                                      Tangkuban Perahu!

Below is the pictures of the above mentioned restaurant, Resto Ciwidey

                                                  Infront of the entrance (view)

If you have spare time, after your meal, go out of the restaurant and walk downwards to this stream. It's lovely.

Till then, I hope this post was amazing for your amazing readers! xoxo

Malacca 2015

I've traveled to a few countries as of today, but that's not it, as long as I'm still capable, I'd love to.
This post is about my roadtrip with my friends to Malacca. Was about mid Jan or Feb, I kinda forgot. But anyways here it is! It was a 4D3N and it was somehow like a backpacking trip so we stayed over at some budget hotel which you should not think highly of. I stayed in Accordian Hotel which I supposed is a 2 star hotel recommended by Trivago. Oh how much of breakfast served and free wifi, but as soon as we were there, we were disappointed by what the front desk told us. "There's no such thing as breakfast and wifi here." Yes, I should inform you all that the front desk staff was simply rude and unapproachable. I knew I was gonna have a terrible 3 nights there.
That's not it, no lifts no nothing. Our room was at the 3rd level. Just as we unlocked the room, we were greeted by such awful smell. Then I wondered how long has that room been unoccupied, I thought to myself, maybe I shouldn't let that bring my whole mood down for the 3 nights. However, bad choice of hotel. Not recommended. Old furniture, stained sofa and bed.

Okay, what an introductory of supposingly fun post. I didn't manage to snap alot of pictures but most pictures is in my SD card, yet to be transferred. Will share with all of you soon!

                                                                  Chendol Ais Bakar

That's what we had after we settled down at the hotel. This chendol I got is from some roadside stalls but mind you, it's damn good! Chendol Bakar is the name of the stall, and it's really recommended! Yums, it sends chills down my spine! Such a good dessert on a very hot day the other day.

A'Famosa Water Park

I was shocked at how unpleasant it was, The ladies smelled like I was at a wet market filled with dead fishes... no I'm serious. However the rides were awesome! Rented a cabana and it was good just that we needed to take turns on who's gonna take care of our items, (just to be safe). Don't have fun and then regret! Oh have your stomach filled before having a long day there! The meals and drinks there are quite pricey I would say and their service, (like waiting time for food) is just ridiculous.  A very small portion of fried rice was RM12 if I could recall correctly.

Found a small tent selling durians!

Yes we had durians afterwards! It was damn good!! RM50 for a king durian or something like that, erm, once in awhile why not right? Hehehe.

That was kinda a summary of my trip there. I'd upload more pictures of the trip soon!
                                                                    Till next time!

Fresh Out Of The Oven

                                             GREETINGS LOVELIES

Fresh out of the oven... Well that somehow explains my post today. It's my first post ever and I'm feeling rather nervous than excited about it. Why? I've been wanting to create a blog about travelling and food, both what I love to do, since young. Now that I've created one, I really hope I'd go from 0-100 real quick. Haha, hope I'd please you readers with my posts. Still an amateur blogger, so pardon my mistakes along my journey with Blogger. Well here's the start of " TRAVEL MAKAN & ME " !
